tik publishing
The release tool behind Heel Turn, a short-video show of true stories from history and technology, each with a dark twist at the end.
What this application is
tik is a private production tool, run by a single operator, that writes, voices, animates and reviews short vertical videos and then releases the approved ones to YouTube channels that the operator owns. It is not a public service and has no end users other than its operator.
How it uses YouTube
After signing in once with the operator's own Google account, tik uses the YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API, and only for the operator's own channels, to:
- upload finished videos, with their titles, descriptions and captions;
- read basic performance numbers (views, watch time) of those same videos to judge which episodes work;
- manage the same channels' video details and, later, live broadcasts.
Every video is reviewed and approved by a person before it is released. Nothing is posted automatically without that approval.
AI disclosure
The characters, voices and scripts of Heel Turn are created with the help of AI and reviewed by a person. Videos are uploaded with YouTube's altered or synthetic content setting enabled.
